International Dark Sky Week Competition

It may seem harmless, but light pollution has far-reaching consequences that are harmful to all living things. Effective outdoor lighting reduces light pollution, leading to a better quality of life for all. The dark sky movement is working to bring better lighting to communities around the world so that all life can thrive.

Go into the draw to win a  6″ Dobsonian Reflector Telescope. Australia Wide Entries Welcome :)

Each entrant will receive a 20% Discount to visit the Observatory on School Term nights or during the School Holiday Programs over 2021.

Visit includes a Tour, 3D Movies, Viewing at the Telescopes.

Special event Thursday 8th April 7.45- 9.15pm IDSW – record Wildlife at Night at the Observatory

Join in with Bill, President of the Field Naturalists’ Club of Ballarat and the Junior Rat Nats to record the Wildlife active at night at the Observatory, count the stars in the Southern Cross and optional enter our IDSW competition. No telescope viewing this session, using our eyes only to learn about the importance of a dark night.
