AstroKids!: Space is all aROUND!
AstroKids Sessions are aimed at families with children aged 5-10. The theme: Round things! Space is not very pointy and everything seem to spin around or orbit. Round and round they go. Learn about the shapes of things in space and “PI With hands on experiences and a talk.

Evenings
Evening Sessions are aimed at all ages and are jampacked: History Tour, Presentation, Stargazing, Telescope Viewing, and Q&A with an astronomer all within 2 hours. In case of cloudy weather stargazing and telescope viewing will be replaced by a virtual sky tour. Alternatively, a raincheck can be arranged.

Movie Screening: Capturing the Cosmos (FlatScreen)
Learn how Australian Scientists are contributing to our knowledge of the universe with all sky astronomy with focuses on SkyMapper and the Murchison Wide-field Array (MWA).

History Tour
The Ballarat Municipal Observatory is one of the oldest remaining municipal observatories in Australia. Go on a guided tour with an astronomer from the Ballaarat Astronomical Society who have been managing the observatory since 1958.

A minimum number of participants is required for each session to proceed. If this number is not met, the Ballaarat Astronomical Society reserves the right to cancel the session. In such cases, participants will be contacted and offered a refund or the option to reschedule.
A portable ramp is available upon request for entry into the hall. The hall is accessible via footpath but may be a little bumpy for wheelchairs and prams.
Captions, Audio Descriptions and hearing loop are NOT available.
