Want to learn how to identify various features on the Moon? On International Observe the Moon Night 2023, We’ll have telescopes and astronomers present to help you do just that. There will be Moon, Saturn and stellar object viewing, an astronomical talk and a tour of our observatory, one of the oldest in Australia.
The Moon will be a stunning, waxing crescent 6.6 days old at 19:30hrs AEDT, offering great opportunities for viewing along the terminator – the line between night and day.
Dress for cold Ballarat Weather as it can be very chilly.
If Cloudy, the event will still go ahead with our virtual night sky program.
